Rubutattun waƙoƙin Hausa sun samu gagarumar bunƙasa, ta fuskar yawaita da bazuwa a ko’ina, da kuma ingancin tsari, da salon sarrafa harshe a cikin karni na 19. Wannan kuwa ya samu ne saboda rabautuwar da ƙasar Hausa ta yi da ayyukan Mujaddadi Shehu Usmanu Ɗan Fodiyo, da jama’arsa suka yi wajen tashi tsaye kan gyaran addini, da yaɗa ilmi, da kyautata halayen rayuwa waɗanda suka gurɓace a ƙasar Hausa a wancan zamani tsakanin 1804-1810 sun yi amfani da waƙoƙi wajen cim ma wannan manufa tasu.Waɗansu waƙoƙi an wallafa su ne kafin a fara jihadi, wasu lokacin da ake jihadi, wasu kuwa bayan an kammala jihadi. Wannan maƙala ta ƙuduri aniyar tarken waƙoƙi biyu na masu jihadi waɗanda aka rubuta su bayan kammala jihadi 1830-1860 bisa la’akari da jigo, da zubi da tsari, da kuma salon sarrafa harshe. Waɗannan waƙoƙi sun haɗa da waƙar “Rokon Ruwa” ta Nana Asma’u ‘yar Shehu da waƙar “Alhakin Mumini Bisa Mumini da Tarbiyyar Yara” ta Isan Kware ɗan Shehu. Karance-karance da hirarraki sun kasance a matsayin hanyoyin tattara bayanai. An kuma ɗora nazarin a bisa turbarƊaurayar Gadon Feɗe Waƙana Ɗangambo (2007).Bincike na sa ran cewa muƙalar ta kasance mai alfanu ga ɗalibai da malamai da kuma manazarta waƙa musamman rubutacciya.
