Review Process

    Ɗunɗaye Journal of Hausa Studies: Editorial Process

    1. Submission:

    - Authors submit their manuscripts electronically via email to the journal's official submission address.

    - Submissions must adhere to the journal's guidelines, including formatting and word count limits.

    2. Initial Screening:

    - The editorial office conducts an initial screening to ensure that submissions meet the basic requirements and fit within the scope of the journal.

    - Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria are returned to the authors with feedback.

    3. Plagiarism Check:

    - Manuscripts passing the initial screening undergo a plagiarism check using reputable plagiarism detection software.

    - Any manuscript found to have significant levels of plagiarism is rejected, and the author is notified.

    4. Assignment to Editors:

    - Manuscripts that pass the plagiarism check are assigned to an editor with expertise in the relevant field of study.

    - The editor conducts a preliminary review to assess the manuscript’s suitability and quality.

    5. Peer Review:

    - Suitable manuscripts are sent to at least two independent peer reviewers for double-blind review.

    - Reviewers assess the manuscript’s originality, methodology, significance, and clarity.

    - Reviewers provide detailed comments and recommendations: accept, minor revisions, major revisions, or reject.

    6. Review Feedback:

    - The editor compiles the reviewers’ feedback and makes an initial decision on the manuscript.

    - Authors receive the reviewers’ comments and the editor’s decision, which may include requests for revisions.

    7. Revisions:

    - Authors revise their manuscripts according to the feedback provided.

    - Revised manuscripts are resubmitted to the journal within a specified timeframe.

    - In cases of major revisions, the revised manuscript may be sent back to the original reviewers for further evaluation.

    8. Final Decision:

    - The editor reviews the revised manuscript and makes a final decision.

    - Manuscripts may be accepted, accepted with minor revisions, or rejected.

    9. Copyediting and Proofreading:

    - Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting to correct grammatical, typographical, and formatting errors.

    - Authors review and approve the final proofs before publication.

    10. Publication:

    - The finalized manuscripts are formatted for publication and uploaded to the journal’s website.

    - Articles are published in the current issue of Ɗunɗaye Journal of Hausa Studies.

    11. Post-Publication:

    - The journal promotes the published articles through various channels, including social media and academic networks.

    - Authors are encouraged to share their published work within their professional communities.
